EXFORGE Film Coated Tablet is taken by mouth.
Microcrystalline cellulose, crospovidone, colloidal anhydrous silica, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, macrogol 4000, talc, sodium starch glycolate, titanium dioxide (E171), yellow iron oxide (E172).
EXFORGE is presented in blister packaging containing 28 film coated tablets.
Each film-coated tablet contains 10 mg amlodipine and 320 mg valsartan.
EXFORGE contains amlodipine, a substance of the class of calcium channel blockers, and valsartan, an agent of the class of angiotensin II receptor antagonists. Both of these substances control your high blood pressure (hypertension). Amlodipine blocks the calcium channels of vascular smooth muscle cells; this prevents blood vessels from contracting. Angiotensin II, a substance produced by the body, increases blood pressure by causing blood vessels to contract. Valsartan acts by blocking the action of angiotensin IE. These two mechanisms relax your blood vessels and lower your blood pressure.
EXFORGE is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in patients whose blood pressure alone is not adequately controlled by a drug containing amlodipine or valsartan. If high blood pressure persists for a long time, it can destroy blood vessels in the brain, heart, and kidneys, leading to stroke, heart failure or kidney failure. Lowering blood pressure to the normal level these disorders
reduces the risk of.
